Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team at Compass Point Recruitment Ltd in Newmarket. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for managing sales ledgers, maintaining purchase ledgers, performing credit control tasks, and providing general accounting support to the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Ledger Management: Accurately process sales invoices and record customer payments.
  • Purchase Ledger Maintenance: Manage supplier invoices, process payments, and perform timely account reconciliations.
  • Credit Control: Monitor outstanding balances, chase overdue payments, and maintain effective relationships with customers.
  • Expense Reconciliation: Manage staff expenses, submit receipts, and process reimbursements efficiently.
  • General Accounting Support: Provide support with month-end closing, bank reconciliations, and other ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Administrative Duties: Support the finance team with filing, data entry, and general office tasks when needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role.
  • Strong understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger, and credit control processes.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
