Join Our Team as a Head of Motor Underwriting

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Motor Underwriting team. As a Head of Motor Underwriting, you will be responsible for providing expert technical underwriting services, controlling the acceptance and rating of risk, and taking responsibility for technical leadership and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical underwriting services, controlling the acceptance and rating of risk, within agreed authorities.
  • Take responsibility for technical leadership, portfolio management, interpretation, and practical implementation.
  • Manage our portfolio to hit plan, managing quotability, risk mix, and other key indicators.
  • Steer projects and strategic activity, assessing impact on our existing underwriting capability and assisting with practical implementation.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of General Insurance with knowledge of Personal lines or commercial insurance desirable.
  • Extensive experience underwriting and/or portfolio management with knowledge and experience of underwriting rules development, product development, and direct trading environments.
  • Project management experience and leadership and management of people with the willingness to lead, motivate, and inspire others to achieve their full potential.
