Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Acute Respiratory Team. The successful candidate will work across medical and surgical wards, intensive care, and out-patients, providing specialist respiratory care and rehabilitation to promote positive outcomes for our patients.

The post involves internal rotations within the team, including ICU surgery, medical wards, and outpatients, including cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, secretions clearance, and breathlessness clinic. You will work alongside four other band 6 Physiotherapists and be supported by the Band 7 staff to develop your clinical and people skills.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To work independently under the guidance of the team leader and actively participate in the professional development of self and others.
  • To contribute to other departmental activities, including clinical education of students.
  • To work as requested across a 7-day rota.
  • To participate in provision of on-call or other 'out of hours' services in evenings and Bank Holidays.
  • To ensure compliance with confidential patient records, hospital equipment, and own safety in line with Trust policies and procedures.
  • To provide written and verbal feedback to the multidisciplinary team regarding communicating rehabilitation needs/goals required to facilitate safe discharge.
  • To deputise for senior staff as required.
