Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Cardiology Consultant to support the development and growth of our services at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a General Cardiology Consultant post with an option to deliver specialist activity. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of Consultants, Specialist nurses, Cardiac rehab nurses, Speciality Doctor, Cardio/Respiratory Physiologists, Heart Failure Nurses, and a Lead Cardiology Nurse.

Our department is well-positioned within the wider local cardiology network and works closely with Leeds, South Tees, and Mid York's. We also have regular visiting consultants from Leeds teaching hospitals for satellite arrhythmia clinics.

The post holder will have excellent opportunities to develop new or existing services according to their clinical interests. Flexible/Part-time working will be considered with opportunities to undertake sessions at other organisations to maintain or develop skills.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a retention premium of £10,000 upon completion of one year's service, £15,000 upon completion of two years' service, and a further £15,000 payment upon completion of three years' service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To conduct all activities within the contracted level of service and operating plan for Cardiology service
  • To support service development within the cardiology service
  • To provide an inpatient and outpatient Cardiology service, including all aspects of non-elective and outpatient treatment and related management duties
