As an Emergency Support Services Advisor at the Retirement Villages Group in Chester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents during emergencies.

This role involves assessing the nature of emergencies and providing appropriate assistance, which may include responding to emergency calls, administering first aid, and promoting healthy eating programs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Assessing emergencies and determining the necessary course of action, working closely with emergency services as required.
  2. Providing support and care to residents in need, administering first aid and basic medical care when necessary, and promoting self-help groups.
  3. Maintaining accurate records of incidents and actions taken, ensuring that all necessary information is documented and up-to-date.
  4. Communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff during emergency situations, providing clear and concise information and updates.
  5. Supporting wider village teams by providing specialist wellbeing knowledge to promote healthy menus and general healthy eating programs.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of experience as an emergency responder, EMT, or similar role, preferably with certification in CPR/First Aid.
  • The ability to use specialist equipment, including defibrillators, evacuation chairs, or any other equipment carried by the village.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed during stressful situations, and empathize with the needs of elderly residents.
  • Physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies and assist residents as needed, working night shifts (8pm - 8am).

Estimated salary: £35,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
