About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our Mental Health team at NHS Lanarkshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, managing and supervising a team of nurses, and contributing to the development of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver care to a defined caseload of clients/patients, ensuring a high standard of quality care.
  • Delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management, and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers.
  • Contribute to the development of our mental health services, including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration in Mental Health/Learning Disabilities.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice, demonstrating breadth of knowledge required to lead safely and effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
  • Leadership skills to enable day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
