Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing information, advice, and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and their parents/carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective communication and support to parents/carers and their children/young people in discussions and negotiations with schools, colleges, and SEN practitioners.
- Work on the service advice line, responding to queries and providing guidance on special educational needs and disabilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, and other stakeholders to ensure effective support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to provide informed advice and support.
Requirements
- Experience working in special educational needs or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
