About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Oncology Specialist CNS to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to children with cancer and blood disorders, working closely with specialist paediatricians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new policies and procedures, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with best practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) with current registration and a degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 4 years post-registration experience in an acute paediatric setting, with a focus on oncology or haematology.
  • Proven experience of working in a POSCU or oncology service, with a strong understanding of chemotherapy administration and oncology skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
