About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cancer Support Worker to join our team in the Surgical Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with cancer, providing them with the necessary information and resources to navigate the complex healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support patients with cancer, providing them with information and resources to manage their condition
  • Work closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists to register and monitor patients through My Medical Records
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care
  • Provide education and support to patients and carers on cancer treatment and management
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cancer care pathways and protocols
Requirements
  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grades A-C) or equivalent
  • Evidence of learning and development courses
  • Understanding of the health and social care environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment and adapt to change
