Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Secretary to join our team at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment. As a Family Law Secretary, you will provide high-level support to our partners and fee earners in the Family Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to partners and fee earners, including diary management, travel arrangements, and document preparation.
  • Assist with the daily secretarial duties, such as managing bundles and ensuring all work is undertaken in the correct priority order.
  • Communicate with Team Coordinators/Team Leaders to keep them appraised of task status and follow team processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members on team processes, procedures, and solutions, ensuring more junior members of the team understand and adhere to these.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the team's success by actively seeking to improve working processes.

Requirements:

  • Extensive relevant experience as a Legal Secretary.
  • Strong working knowledge of iManage and Bighand or similar tools.
  • IT literate with high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Lync - Skype for Business, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Detailed and strong working knowledge of and high-level proficiency in Elite billing.
  • Exemplary document management and filing.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Applies knowledge and judgement to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Experience of delegating to, and training, junior team members.
