The Role of the Front of House Team Leader

The Front of House Team Leader will play a pivotal role in the delivery of outpatient services at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. This position requires a strong leader who can provide support and guidance to the Front of House administration team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Front of House supervisor to ensure that the department delivers high standards of service in an efficient manner, in line with hospital and departmental standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership to administrative staff members
  • Support the supervisor in managing staff rotas, annual leave, and flexi time to ensure adequate cover for effective service delivery
  • Liaise with other team leaders to ensure all areas are covered during busy periods and staff breaks
  • Review service provisions for the following day and escalate potential issues to the supervisor
  • Support the supervisor to ensure administrative staff members remain compliant with all essential training required by the Hospital
  • Monitor staff performance and compliance against standard operating procedures, addressing any non-compliance issues
  • Support staff in troubleshooting issues and complaints
  • Accountable for own standards of work in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by identifying areas of risk and following the Incident reporting policy and procedure
Person Specification
  • Literate and numerate with a good level of education to GCSE-level (or equivalent)
  • Prepared to undertake further training/qualifications relevant to the role
Experience
  • Proven office and customer service experience in previous employment
  • Previous experience in a customer service role
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting
  • Previous experience in a leadership/management role
