IT Solutions Architect

We are seeking a skilled Solution Architect to join our team at an educational institution in Middlesex. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing integrated solutions that meet the current and future needs of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop innovative solutions to complex business problems, ensuring compatibility with relevant architectures, strategies, policies, principles, standards, and practices.
- Lead the development of solution architectures in specific business or functional areas, driving transformational change and enabling the design and development of integrated solutions.
- Provide guidance and risk-based governance to support solution implementation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Chair the IT Technical Design Authority (TDA) and work with technical teams to support the design, development, and delivery of IT projects.
- Own the product architecture for the project portfolio, developing product roadmaps and designs, and presenting proposed designs at governance forums to gain approval.
- Implement architecture patterns and create reference architectures, undertaking structured analysis of technical issues and translating this analysis into technical designs.
- Proven experience in solution architecture across multiple platforms within an enterprise technical environment.
- Experience in building architecture strategy and best practices, with knowledge of architecture standards such as TOGAF.
- Ability to create 'fit for purpose' technology solutions by understanding and interpreting business processes, with a broad knowledge of technology and experience in virtualised environments.
- Track record of influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders, with problem-solving skills and an interest in emerging technology trends.
- Experience in implementing 'best management practice' standards and frameworks, with the ability to analyse problems and data, presenting solutions and information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
