Learning and Development Lead

The Learning and Development Lead will take a leading role in the Drama department at GSL Education. This position will oversee the implementation and development of engaging and creative lesson plans across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences in Drama.
  • Lead and manage the Drama department to ensure excellent standards are maintained.
  • Mentor and support Drama teachers in their professional development.
  • Organize and oversee school productions and performances.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership to enhance the educational experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Drama at the secondary level.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A passion for Drama and the ability to bring creativity into the classroom.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Candidates must have QTS – without QTS, they will not be considered. This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
