About the Role

As a Capital Investment Financial Performance Manager at Thames Water, you will be responsible for managing the Capital Programme's financial reporting, review, and challenge. This role is crucial in enhancing our financial reporting processes to help us succeed, including the implementation of our Programme Sponsorship model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance performance controls and associated reporting to support proactive programme management, including forecasting accuracy and 'living within our means'.
  • Develop relationships with other teams across the organisation, focusing on cross-learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement to improve performance.
  • Support the business with reporting and outcomes of commercial settlements and interpretation to senior management.
  • Provide business performance against budget and prior periods, identifying insights across financial and customer trends.
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial models and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address financial performance gaps and areas for improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels on a wide range of topics.
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience of working in a utilities/water organisation is desirable but not essential.
