Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive primary school in Ealing, London. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum and reach their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, adapting learning materials to meet their specific needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students' confidence, independence, and social development.
  • Assist with the management of behavior, using positive reinforcement techniques to support students in developing appropriate social and learning behaviors.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a SEND or inclusive education setting.
  • A strong understanding of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the varied needs of individual students.
