About the Opportunity

Tameside Council has an exciting vacancy for a Leaving Care Personal Advisor to join their Adult Social Care team. This role offers 21 hours of work per week and presents a unique chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the needs of service users and developing customized support plans.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring progress towards set goals.

Applicants should possess:

  • A Level 3 NVQ in Care of Children and Young People (or equivalent).
  • Considerable experience in direct work with children or young adults.
  • A solid understanding of child development, trauma, and safeguarding principles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients and colleagues.

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with issues affecting young people, such as domestic abuse and substance misuse.
  • Experience supporting young people into education, employment, or training.
