Woodwind Music Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Woodwind Music Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Woodwind (Clarinet) to students, providing individual music lessons, and encouraging performance opportunities and participation in ensembles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire students of all levels. They will also be able to build students' musicianship, technique, and confidence, and have a genuine interest in and commitment to a student's musical learning.
The music department at our school runs a full program of extracurricular activities, some in collaboration with the drama department. The successful candidate will be part of a busy and vibrant music department and will be expected to contribute to the development of the department's programs and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Providing proper supervision of students during lesson times as appropriate while on the school's premises and ensuring that students comply with the school's reasonable standards of conduct and behavior.
- Recording and maintaining a register using SOCS.
- Providing parents with a written report on the progress of students at least once a year.
- Observing such reasonable and lawful policies and procedures as shall be notified to them by the school.
Person Specification:
- Ability to motivate and inspire students across the age and ability range.
- Ability to relate well to young people.
- Ability to build students' musicianship, technique, and confidence.
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written.
- Effective IT skills.
- Excellent teaching skills Knowledge and experience.
- An accomplished singer with relevant qualifications and/or professional experience.
- Experience of teaching instrumental music lessons to prep school age pupils.
- Knowledge of the ABRSM and other examining boards Qualifications.
- A relevant formal music qualification is desirable.
