Proteomics Research Scientist Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Proteomics Research Scientist Leader to join our team at The Francis Crick Institute. As a key member of our Proteomics Scientific Technology Platform (STP), you will lead and coordinate complex proteomic projects, providing expert advice and guidance to researchers and clinicians.

Our STP provides access to cutting-edge instrumentation and expertise across the range of applications necessary for modern biomedical research, including proteomics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating and leading complex proteomic projects, providing expert advice and guidance to researchers and clinicians.
  • Providing technical expertise and input for the development, refinement, and troubleshooting of novel methodologies.
  • Collaborating with other lab members on research projects, providing experimental or technical support as needed.
Requirements:
  • A PhD or equivalent experience gained through working in a mass spectrometry laboratory, including basic and advanced proteomic sample handling and processing protocols, and familiarity with instrument maintenance requirements.
  • Direct experience with either the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Tribrid platform or the Bruker timsTOF Ultra/Pro2.
  • Detailed understanding of proteomics related bioinformatics and associated software packages such as PEAKS, Mascot, Scaffold, MaxQuant, Spectronaut, DIA-NN and Skyline.
Benefits:
