Job Description

Role Overview:

Reeson Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Support Professional to join a vibrant primary school in Lambeth. The successful candidate will work closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and class teachers to deliver tailored support to students with Autism (ASC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with Autism, adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Implement effective strategies to manage and encourage positive behaviour, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other staff members to create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that address each student's specific needs.
  • Regularly assess the progress of students with ASC, adjusting support strategies as needed and providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment where students with ASC feel safe, supported, and able to participate fully in school life.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Special Education Support Professional, specifically in supporting students with Autism, is essential for this role.
  • The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and passionate about supporting students with special educational needs.
  • A strong commitment to helping students with ASC succeed academically and socially is essential for this position.
