Job Title:

University Housing Security

In this role, you will provide excellent customer service to all persons who enter the residence halls. This includes answering questions and greeting individuals as they enter the building.

As a member of the Residence Life team, you will work with colleagues to maintain an environment that is conducive to the academic and personal success of residents. You will also respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and elevator entrapments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to respond to emergency situations (able to move through congested areas, walking tours of the building, and able to use stairs without aid of elevators, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Residence Life Professional Staff Members, SuperDesk Coordinators, fellow SuperDesk staff members, and other University Housing staff to maintain an environment that is conducive to the academic and personal success of residents.
  • Showcase excellent communication skills with residents and University Housing employees.
  • Arrive to shifts on time and wearing the proper uniform.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and elevator entrapments.
  • Answer phones, distribute mail/packages, update inventory supplies and sale items, and other administrative tasks.
  • Process credit cards and check transactions for sale items, guest housing payments, etc.
  • Abide by FERPA and other confidential rules / regulations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while working with residents, guests, staff, etc.
  • Complete special duties and projects as assigned.

Estimated Salary: $12-$15 per hour. The actual salary may vary based on experience and qualifications.
