Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our OSAT Operations team at PragmatIC Semiconductor. The successful candidate will provide engineering support for inlay assembly and label conversion processes using reel-to-reel equipment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experience.

The role will involve approximately 50% travel to provide technical support to offsite customer engagements, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in automated die attach or reel-to-reel processing, with experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and microelectronics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support for inlay assembly and label conversion processes
  • Gain a deep understanding of process and machine issues to provide rapid review, evaluation, and analysis
  • Work on projects that require judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations
  • Implement lean and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time to provide technical support to offsite customer engagements
  • Assist in qualifying machine upgrades to run Pragmatic products, providing high-quality mentoring and training to staff
  • Write technical reports and collate and interpret data
Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level in a related discipline, with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and microelectronics
  • Experience of R2R processing (advantage)
  • PFMEA, PCP, and OCAP experience (advantage)
  • Ability to speak effectively to vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization
