About Our Client
We are a leading provider of residential accommodations for children transitioning from supported living to residential homes. Our focus on growth and expansion has led to the establishment of multiple properties, with recent additions including three residential homes to our portfolio. As part of our expansion plan, we are seeking a dedicated Residential Manager to lead a brand new 4-bed EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) home catering to children aged 8-18 years.

Key Responsibilities
As a Residential Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the establishment and management of the new EBD home. You will work closely with the assessments and referrals team to identify and select young people best suited for the new service. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the residential home, ensuring high-quality care and support for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Leading and managing a team of care staff, providing guidance, support, and supervision as necessary.
  • Developing and implementing care plans tailored to the individual needs of each resident, in accordance with relevant legislation, Ofsted regulations, and best practice guidelines.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with residents, their families, external agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents at all times, maintaining a secure and nurturing environment.
  • Managing the recruitment, training, and performance of staff members, promoting continuous professional development and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Operations to set and achieve key performance targets, including occupancy levels, staff retention, and resident satisfaction.
  • Taking an active role in the ongoing development and promotion of the new service, contributing to marketing efforts and community engagement initiatives.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years of supervisor experience within a children's home setting, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, Ofsted regulations, and best practice guidelines.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to working with children and young people.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the service, including occasional evening and weekend work as required.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
