Communication Therapist for Young People

This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist to work within a Learning Disability CAMHS team across North Derbyshire. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works to reduce mental health difficulties in young people with moderate and severe learning disabilities. Communication assessments and formulations will help to form overall planning and mental health support for young people referred to the service.
As a key member of the LD CAMHS team, you will contribute to communication assessments, formulations and interventions for young people with learning disabilities as part of LD CAMHS. You will also offer training, consultations and expert clinical advice about communication and language disorders to mental health practitioners.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Speech & Language Therapist who has a recognised vocational degree in speech and language therapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with learning disabilities and / or Autism, as well as devising and delivering training.
The successful candidate will receive regular supervision and support from colleagues, including access to opportunities for further training and development. The salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
