Bridge Maintenance Supervisor – South Queensferry

A key opportunity has arisen to lead BEAR Scotland's Maintenance team, overseeing the upkeep of Scotland's most iconic structures, including the Queensferry Crossing.
Based in our Queensferry depot and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee a multi-trade team, delivering cyclic maintenance programmes and associated tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a multi-trade team on maintenance activities on major bridges.
- Supervise technicians and ensure the smooth execution of maintenance tasks.
- Administer records, including timesheets and scheme files.
- Manage team Health & Safety, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Work to cyclic maintenance programmes, prioritizing tasks and resources.
- Produce job/project estimates, ensuring accurate cost planning.
- Conduct inspections of completed works, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Produce and review Health & Safety documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Lead the Rescue Team, ensuring prompt and effective response to emergencies.
- Flexibility to lead nightshift works as required, demonstrating adaptability and commitment.
Requirements:
- HNC in an engineering discipline, demonstrating relevant technical knowledge.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Competence in Word/Excel, ensuring effective communication and data management.
- Commercial awareness, understanding the business context and implications.
- Ability to work at height and in confined spaces, demonstrating physical and mental resilience.
- Fully approved UK driving licence, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
