Job SummaryWe're seeking a skilled Triage Officer to join our Stronger Families Hub team. As a key member of our team, you'll provide a first point of contact for children and families, members of the public, and other professionals. Your timely and accurate responses will support families in accordance with the Children's Act.
Key Responsibilities- Provide telephone support to children and families, members of the public, and other professionals.
- Create and process new contacts, providing advice and signposting to professionals, partner agencies, families, children, young people, and members of the public.
- Gather, analyze, and summarize information from various sources to ensure families receive support at the most appropriate level and to escalate safeguarding cases to managers and social workers.
- Identify risks or emergencies requiring immediate attention and handle difficult conversations and de-escalate tense situations.
- Maintain professional and empathetic communication, ensuring clear documentation during the triage process.
We're looking for a compassionate and motivated individual with experience working with vulnerable families and a good understanding of social care, education, and health services. You'll have excellent communication skills, a good knowledge of IT systems, and the ability to respond to requests efficiently and professionally.
