About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Flood Risk Management Officer to join our dedicated team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in managing local flood risk across the county.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate planning applications related to flood risks from surface water, groundwater, and ordinary watercourses.
- Manage land drainage consents and collaborate with partners and the community to address and promote mitigation efforts for flood risk issues.
- Maintain the asset register.
- Map flood incidents.
- Support the review of the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and other documentation such as flood risk assessments, flood risk management plans, and surface water management plans.
