This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in finance with a reputable and established company based in Northampton. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be working closely with the experienced finance team to develop your skills and knowledge.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, intrastats, variance analysis, fixed asset register, journals, month-end reporting, producing P&L reports, balance sheet reconciliations, analysing variants, making suggestions based on their analysis, and assisting with purchase ledger.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is confident in Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookups, and SUM IF's, and has good communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team.

About the Role
  • To provide support to the finance team with financial activities such as reconciliations and journal entries
  • To assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheets and profit and loss accounts
  • To provide administrative support to the finance team, including data entry and maintenance of accurate records
