We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Improvement Lead to join our team at Carbon 60. As a leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance, solid-state laser systems and fibre optics, we are committed to delivering exceptional quality products that meet the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the development and maintenance of business systems, procedures, and documentation. They will also be responsible for certification to new or existing regulatory standards, such as ISO 9001:2015, and conducting internal audits throughout the audit cycle to drive improvement activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Business System Development: Develop and maintain business systems, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Production Quality Engineering Support: Provide quality engineering support to manufacturing to maintain on-time delivery (OTD) and quality requirements.
  3. Quality Assurance & Auditing: Conduct internal and supplier product and process audits, investigate customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in a quality engineering or assurance role in a relevant manufacturing industry.
  2. HND/BTEC/NVQ Level 4 in engineering or quality.
  3. Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
  4. Experience of CI methodologies (5S, LSS etc.).
  5. Experience of working with customers and suppliers.
  6. Knowledge of 8D problem-solving, RCCA tools as well as APQP, PPAP, and FMEAs.
  7. Ability to write and submit quality reports and familiar with Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
  8. Experience of working with ERP systems.
  9. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  10. Able to interpret manufacturing documentation.

Salary Estimate: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
