Position Overview

We are currently seeking a qualified Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to enhance our dynamic outpatient Early Intervention in Mental Health Services (EWMHS) team in Redbridge. This permanent role is ideal for a psychologist who is deeply committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of young individuals.

The successful candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and be registered with the relevant professional body. A minimum of two years' experience in delivering psychological therapies within a CAMHS context is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive psychological services to children and adolescents facing emotional and mental health challenges, along with their families.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and treatment planning for young clients.
  • Conduct specialized clinical work, including urgent assessments and parenting support.
  • Provide expert supervision and consultation to multidisciplinary staff regarding CYPMHS cases.
  • Engage in research and audit activities to enhance service delivery.
  • Monitor treatment outcomes and utilize standardized measures associated with CYP-IAPT.
  • Work collaboratively within the framework of CYPMHS and adhere to Trust policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Eligibility for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (HCPC, BACP, UKCP, AFT, ACP).
  • Successful completion of postgraduate training in psychological practice.
  • Extensive experience working with children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Experience in conducting assessments within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical interventions in CAMHS/EWMHS.
  • Understanding of legislation related to children and safeguarding procedures.
  • Familiarity with NHS, Social Care, and Education frameworks and evidence-based practices.
