About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Hydraulics Modeller to join our Risk Validation team at Severn Trent Water. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance and reliability of our wastewater network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the evaluation of wastewater network performance to identify and validate risks such as sewer flooding, growth, and sewage pumping station performance.
  • Oversee programme-level hydraulic modelling requirements, ensuring compliance with standards for model audits, fitness assessments, and risk validation.
  • Enhance Severn Trent Water's hydraulic modelling standards and processes, staying abreast of industry developments.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure software and hardware requirements for hydraulic modelling are met.
  • Lead and manage hydraulic modelling activities across multiple projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of results.
  • Coordinate with Tactical Asset Planning and Capital Design & Delivery teams to align project goals with business objectives.
  • Validate and report risks to support the updating of the company's risk management systems.
Requirements
  • A minimum of six years of experience in wastewater network modelling using InfoWorks ICM and associated GIS tools.
  • Competence in hydraulic modelling software, including 1D/2D, full 2D, and river modules.
  • A comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, sewerage design, and flow survey scoping.
  • Experience in pollution mechanisms, UPM manual, and WFD/water quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to various audiences.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to work within time and budget constraints.
