About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hydraulic Modeller to join our Water and Wastewater Team in Derby/Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading hydraulic modelling projects, developing and maintaining models, and ensuring the quality of outputs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan, flood alleviation, and environmental solution development projects.
  • Model Development: Develop and maintain hydraulic models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for the quality of outputs and compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Team Management: Supervise and develop staff, providing guidance to support their professional development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and team performance.
Requirements
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
  • Project Management: Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects.
  • Hydraulic Modelling: Expertise in hydraulic modelling, catchment planning, and solution development.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to review work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in MS 365 applications, and knowledge in areas such as PowerBI and SharePoint.
  • Software Experience: Experience working with software such as FME, Optimatics, Ruby (or similar).
