About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Integrated Occupational and Physiotherapy team as a Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Specialist. The role will be based in the Surgical Therapies Team, covering respiratory and Critical Care at Ipswich hospital.

As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will manage a defined caseload of patients across various wards, working closely with qualified staff to develop tailored rehabilitation plans. You will use evidence-based approaches to promote functional fitness and aid discharge from hospital, taking into account patients' abilities, preferences, and cultural beliefs.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of delivering personalized care, with a senior level of responsibility. You will also have experience working in acute hospital settings, particularly in surgical, post-Critical Care, Oncology, and Respiratory Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a defined caseload of patients across various wards, under the guidance of qualified staff.">
  • Develop and implement tailored rehabilitation plans, using evidence-based approaches to promote functional fitness and aid discharge from hospital.">
  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to progress rehabilitation goals and enhance patient recovery.">
  • Communicate complex information effectively to patients, using persuasion, motivation, explanation, negotiation, and empathy.">
  • Assist with the induction and training of new assistants, juniors, and students when they join the Therapies team.">
  • Benefit from a clear competency framework, providing opportunities for growth and development within the organization.

Person Specification:

">
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering personalized care with a senior level of responsibility.">
  • Experience working in acute hospital settings, particularly in surgical, post-Critical Care, Oncology, and Respiratory Care.">
  • Intermediate level of theoretical knowledge and clinical reasoning skills, acquired through coursework, in-house training, and experience to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.">
  • Legislation associated with Moving and Handling.">
  • Able to work flexibly over a 7/7 service rota.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
