Detailed Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative researcher to join our team in developing innovative machine learning solutions for autonomous alignment of complex optical systems. The successful candidate will investigate the automation of processes used to optimize these systems using machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.

This project aims to create and demonstrate a robust, flexible, industrial system capable of carrying out alignment tasks autonomously. The researcher will work closely with our team of experts in machine learning, robotics, and optical systems to design and implement advanced algorithms and techniques for autonomous alignment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, programming, and data analysis, as well as experience in working with complex optical systems. They will be expected to contribute to the development of new machine learning algorithms and techniques, as well as collaborate with our team to integrate these solutions into our existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement machine learning algorithms for autonomous alignment of complex optical systems
  • Collaborate with our team to integrate machine learning solutions into existing systems
  • Contribute to the development of new machine learning techniques and algorithms
  • Work closely with our team of experts in machine learning, robotics, and optical systems
  • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of experimental facilities and liaise with external collaborators

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD degree in a relevant area, such as machine learning, computer science, or physics
  • Strong background in machine learning, programming, and data analysis
  • Experience in working with complex optical systems
  • Ability to articulate research work via written technical reports and oral presentations
  • Ability to formulate and progress work on their own initiative with evidence of research ability: problem solving, flexibility
