Job Summary:

The University of Edinburgh is seeking an exceptional Research Associate to join our team in the School of Engineering, College of Science & Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of AI tools for Circuits and Systems Design automation.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled researcher with a strong background in AI and Electronics. The post-holder will work closely with a team of talented researchers and the APRIL operations team to support the development of novel AI capabilities, tools, and methodologies that can enhance the productivity of engineers in designing, developing, and testing advanced electronic devices and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and introduce AI tools into commercially available circuit design tools that can autonomously synthesise circuits and systems architectures.
  • Work with world-leading experts across AI and electronics to ensure relevance of research in addressing state-of-art challenges in electronics.
  • Engage with industrial partners to ensure the practical application of research findings.

Requirements:

  • A 1st class undergraduate degree and a PhD in Electronics or AI, or a closely related area, with a proven contact with Circuits and Systems Design, or a closely related area or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in AI tools for Circuits and Systems Design automation.
  • A track record of research in AI, with a specific focus on Circuits and Systems Design or a closely related area.
