Clinical Support Assistant

As a Clinical Support Assistant, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team in primary care, providing essential administrative and clinical support to our General Practitioners. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for healthcare and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and respond to patient inquiries, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
- Extract relevant information from clinical letters, facilitating accurate coding and documentation.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, including urine dips, blood pressure checks, ECGs, and phlebotomy, under the guidance of senior medical staff.
- Prepare and complete routine forms for GP approval, such as insurance and benefits applications.
- Collaborate with external agencies on behalf of the GP, fostering strong relationships and ensuring seamless care coordination.
- GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
- Previous experience working in healthcare, preferably in a primary care setting.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Familiarity with EMIS Web clinical system and database management.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with NHS standards.
