About the Role


The NHS England board aims to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all. This role will contribute to achieving this purpose by enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients, reducing health inequalities, making the NHS a great place to work, and working collaboratively to ensure the healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values, and behaviours.


Job Responsibilities


This fellow will support specialties in identifying workforce needs in response to expansion and distribution. They will work with Trust clinical and education leads and with ICS workforce boards to define and plan the implementation of potential solutions. The fellow will also champion the workforce transformation tools to providers.


Key Skills and Abilities



  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive, and contentious information.
  • Motivational and negotiating skills to encourage collaborative working.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and compare complex facts, opinions, and situations.

Requirements


The ideal candidate will have a clinically qualified background, be registered with a regulatory body, and have a Master's Level or equivalent in a relevant field. They should have significant experience of working in a management role at senior level within the NHS, with a strong understanding of health and social care policy and context.


Working Arrangements


The role is a full-time equivalent fellowship post, but flexible working can be considered. Applicants from within the NHS will be offered a secondment basis only, requiring agreement from their employer prior to submitting the application.
