About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our research group at the CRUK Cambridge Institute, University of Cambridge, as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Biochemistry. Our team focuses on chromatin biology and RNA silencing mechanisms, and we are looking for a talented scientist to contribute to our project.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments to investigate the molecular mechanisms of the piRNA pathway
  • Develop and implement new approaches and techniques in the field
  • Work closely with team members to achieve project goals and milestones
  • Present research findings in international conferences and publish results in top-tier journals

Requirements:

  1. PhD in a relevant discipline (biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics)
  2. Expertise in Drosophila as a model organism and experience in genomics approaches
  3. Strong background in small RNA biology and transposable elements
  4. Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Salary and Benefits:

A competitive salary (£45,000 per annum) and benefits package, including a basic disclosure check and security clearance. The funding for this role is guaranteed for 2 years.
