Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our research group at the CRUK Cambridge Institute, University of Cambridge.

The successful candidate will contribute their expertise in molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry to our project focusing on chromatin biology and RNA silencing mechanisms. This is an excellent opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies, work with a diverse team, and undertake independent research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement experiments to uncover the molecular mechanisms of the piRNA pathway
  • Analyze data from ChIP-seq/RNA-seq/small RNA-seq experiments
  • Contribute to the development of new approaches and techniques in the field
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals

Requirements:

  1. Completed PhD in a relevant discipline (molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry)
  2. Experience working with Drosophila as a model organism
  3. Background in small RNA biology and transposable elements
  4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  5. A strong publication record and ability to generate high-quality data

What We Offer:

A competitive salary (£40,000 - £50,000 per annum), plus benefits including a basic disclosure check and security clearance. The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
