Technical Sales Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Team Leader to join our team at Mpeople Recruitment Yorkshire. As a Technical Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing the Central Parts Sales Team, ensuring excellent quality of service and customer care, building and developing relationships, selling, promoting company products and service portfolio, assisting in the growth of the department and business.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Management: Lead the Sales team by giving clear targets and customer service driven focus towards the achievement of the agreed monthly/annual sales and margin targets.
- Client Relationships: Build and develop relationships with new and existing clients using desk-based and client visit selling techniques.
- Market Research: Research the market to identify potential new account customers, make appropriate approaches with a view to increasing the company customer base.
- Order Processing: Process orders by phone, web and email, expedite/progress orders through to despatch, and maintain accurate records.
- Brand Promotion: Actively promote the company's brand by customer visits and regular telephone contact (both incoming and outgoing calls) to enhance existing and create new business.
- Team Performance: Continually review for accuracy/adverse trends and amend as required.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of ERP sales and work with operations to ensure on-time delivery.
- Payment Processing: Process payments within the Company Procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Training and Development: Ensure each team member has clear targets and responsibilities, and receive adequate training, supervision, and management.
- Strategic Planning: Carry out strategic planning and reviews for the Sales function in consultation with the Sales and Marketing Director.
- Forecasting: Provide detailed annual/quarterly sales forecasts to the Finance and Production Teams taking into account seasonality, historic trends, and industry knowledge.
- Required to have worked in a similar technical sales team leader role with an understanding of sales with a Parts/Engineering or Manufacturing background.
- Must hold a full clean UK Driving License as you will be attending client visits.
- Effective management of the team and resources, lead by example and have the skill to mentor and motivate.
- Ability to interpret and analyse financial and statistical information.
- Innovative and agile approach to identify growth opportunities.
- Excellent track record in both selling, generating new business, be self-driven and motivated and have a proven track record of working towards and achieving targets and KPIs.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast-paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change.
- Team player, hands-on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; understanding of ERP systems will be advantageous.
