This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work with a talented and dedicated team of professionals who share your passion for supporting children with SEND. As a teaching assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping the student build confidence, engage with learning, and manage their emotions within the classroom setting. With a focus on emotional regulation, social skills, and academic achievement, you'll work closely with our experienced team to develop tailored support plans that help each student thrive.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

* Providing individualized support to the student, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs and goals
* Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to create a positive, structured learning environment that promotes social skills, emotional regulation, and overall well-being
* Assisting with managing challenging behavior and emotional outbursts, using proactive strategies to de-escalate conflicts and promote a calm, safe space
* Supporting the student in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities, using creative and innovative approaches to make learning fun and inclusive
* Communicating effectively with the student, staff, and parents, building strong relationships based on trust, empathy, and respect

In addition to these responsibilities, you'll also participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEMH support and share your expertise with colleagues.

This role requires a patient, calm, and empathetic approach to supporting students, with a strong ability to build positive relationships. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEN support is highly desirable, but not essential.
