Job Summary

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist secondary school in Blackpool. The successful candidate will provide exceptional care and support to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and secure environment for pupils, promoting their cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development.
  • Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons to small groups or working one-to-one with pupils.
  • Handle and de-escalate challenging behaviour, ensuring the well-being of pupils and staff.
  • Monitor, assess, record, and report pupils' progress according to the school's policies.

Requirements

  • Experience in supporting adults and children in a personal or work setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Confidence in handling challenging behaviour and de-escalation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
