Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join our team at Babu House in Shoreditch. This is a maternity cover position for 9 months.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing employee relations across Dishoom, working closely with our People Team and external legal partners. Your key objective will be to provide sound advice to resolve concerns, guide formal processes with a focus on reducing legal risk, holding fair processes and supporting team wellbeing.

This position is based at our Head Office, Babu House, in Shoreditch, with regular travel to our sites. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will work collaboratively with our management teams to create a positive and compliant workplace environment.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Advising: Provide practical, timely advice to people managers on employment law and best practices.
  2. Training & Development: Support the design of our ER strategy and deliver ER training sessions to upskill and empower managers.
  3. Monitoring: Use Power BI to identify ER patterns and suggest improvements for better outcomes.
  4. Policy Guidance: Assist in creating, updating, and implementing people policies in line with legislation.
  5. People Team Projects: Support on people team project work that contributes towards the overall people strategy.
Requirements
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of ER and UK Employment Law
  • A big-hearted approach to Employee Relations
  • Dealing with complex ER cases
  • Excellent communication and letter writing skills
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to identifying and implementing processes
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage a multitude of cases

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
