Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Reliability Engineer to join our team at Semtech Corporation. As a key member of our design centre in Bristol, UK, you will play a critical role in the development of our optoelectronic ICs for datacoms and adjacent markets.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Reliability qualification plans for new products, processes, and customer requests.
  • Analyse Reliability data and create formal reports to inform cross-functional team decisions.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product, Test, and Failure Analysis engineering teams to understand Reliability qualification failures and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Predict product reliability levels and perform lifetime calculations based on Reliability stress test results and ongoing monitoring data.
  • Work with Design and Test Engineering teams to design and manufacture HTOL and HAST boards for Reliability qualifications.
  • Assist QA, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operations Team in the disposition of manufacturing lots held due to issues affecting product reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards (JEDEC, AEC, ESDA, IPC, etc.) and ensure our Reliability qualification stress conditions align with the latest revisions.
  • Respond to end customer requests for qualification data, FIT rates, and other product Reliability engineering-related data and inquiries.
  • Represent the team in various stages of New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings where Reliability engineering participation is required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering; Master's degree and PhD in related fields are advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor product Reliability Engineering, including drafting of Reliability qualification plans and reports, and performing field lifetime calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards such as JESD47, JEP122, JS-001/02, AEC-Q100/101/006, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of IC fabrication and Assembly/Test, semiconductor physics, BJT and MOSFET theories, and basic circuit configurations.
