Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cable Jointing Specialist to join our team at SSE Enterprise. As a Cable Jointing Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining and upgrading our electricity network, ensuring the safe and reliable supply of electricity to our customers.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Cable preparation for cable jointing and cable termination into transformers or switchgear.
  • Assisting experienced Cable Jointers working on our HV & LV Network, where you will undergo training while they joint both HV (high voltage 11KV - 33KV) works and LV (415V - 1000V), carrying out jointing, cabling, and excavation work on a pre-planned and quick response basis.
  • Other duties will include assisting with maintenance/refurbishment and preparation of electrical equipment within substation compounds.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong focus on health and safety, adhering to our company motto 'if it's not safe, we don't do it.' You will also need to have hand skills, including routinely stripping meter tails, using hand tools, and fixing meters to boards. An excavator 360 ticket or NRSWA (Streetworks ticket) would be desirable.
