Since 1999, Riverside has been a leading provider of innovative services to veterans from all Armed Services. Now with funding through the Reducing Veteran Homelessness Programme, we have exciting opportunities for two Specialist Support Workers to join our brilliant team at Mike Jackson House.
Based in Aldershot, Mike Jackson House offers Supported Housing to single veterans aged 18 - 65 years old, male, female, or transgender who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with support needs. The service consists of 25 fully furnished self-contained flats on a short-term basis (up to 18 months) and offers support to veterans to develop the skills required to enable them to move on and live independently.
This is a rewarding job where you can really transform the lives of veterans who have been affected by various issues such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Addictions, Offending behaviours, Mental Health issues, Relationship Breakdowns, Physical Injuries, Homelessness, etc.

**About You**
We are looking for someone who has experience working with veterans or time spent serving in the Armed Forces and an understanding of the needs of veterans and the challenges they face. You will have a targeted approach which is highly successful in engagement.

**Job Purpose**
The role is focussed on customer engagement and co production within the service and linking in with external services to offer a comprehensive engagement offer tailored for our customer’s needs. The role will also include carrying a small caseload of our more complex customers ensuring high quality, asset-based support. Working collaboratively as part of a team to deliver an outstanding service and a range of practical and emotional asset-based approaches to support. Have ‘specialist knowledge’ in relation to working with customers and be the lead of your specialism within the service. Working in a Trauma Informed Care approach you will engage and connect with local services and external stakeholders to secure the best services and support for our customers. ‘Specialist knowledge’ can be in a range of skills relating to our customer groups; drug/alcohol misuse, mental health, employment, and training, volunteering or similar.
