Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Support Specialist to join our team in Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support to victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of interpersonal trauma and its impact on individuals and communities. You will work closely with general practice teams to provide specialist advice and support, promoting awareness and recognition of domestic violence and abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist individual and needs-led advocacy and support to patients who have experienced domestic violence/abuse or sexual violence.
  • Develop effective relationships with general practice teams and provide ongoing specialist advice and support.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies to ensure seamless referrals and support for service users.
  • Collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes.
  • Design and deliver in-house training sessions for general practice staff on domestic violence and abuse awareness.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field such as social work, counseling, or psychology.
  • Proven experience in trauma-informed care and domestic abuse support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
