Social Work Role: Child and Family Support

Plymouth City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Permanence Service. This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.

About Our Service:

Our Permanence Service delivers high-quality care and pathway plans that prioritize the needs and aspirations of our children. We strive to maintain manageable caseloads, allowing for strong relationships between social workers, children, and families.

Job Summary:

This role involves delivering high-quality assessments, care plans, and reviews that meet the needs of children and families. You will work collaboratively with partners to achieve positive outcomes for children through effective care planning and pathway management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality assessments, care plans, and reviews that meet the needs of children and families
  • Work collaboratively with partners to achieve positive outcomes for children through effective care planning and pathway management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families, ensuring their voices are heard and valued
  • Contribute to the development of the Permanence Service, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes that enhance service delivery

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is £44,000 - £51,000 per annum (dependent on experience). We also offer a range of benefits, including a guaranteed interview scheme for disabled candidates, Armed Forces Service Leavers, or those with care experience, and up to £8k relocation support.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • HCPC registered as a Social Worker
  • Enhanced DBS check with clearance for children and adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
