Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert advice and support on energy-related issues, including energy efficiency, smart meters, and carbon monoxide awareness.
- Engage with local communities and support groups to raise awareness about available support services and promote access to them.
- Support service users with budgeting tools and income maximization through benefit checks and applications.
- Inform and support clients with applications for eligible grants and funding, including top-up vouchers.
- Provide financial capability and income maximization advice to clients.
- Contribute to the achievement of project targets and requirements.
- Ensure high-quality standards are met, and data is captured and recorded accurately.

- Experience of providing tailored advice or support.
- Effective oral communication skills, with a focus on negotiating and representing.

- Proficiency in using IT for advice provision and report preparation.
- Effective writing skills, with a focus on negotiating, representing, and preparing reviews, reports, and correspondence.

- Understanding of and commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service and its equality and diversity policies.
- Ability to adapt to varied client groups and work environments.
- Experience of providing general advice or energy advice.
- Experience of working to targets or on funded projects.
- Demonstrate understanding of social trends and their implications for clients and service provision.
- Experience of working in the voluntary sector would be desirable.
- Ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively, with a willingness to challenge constructively.
Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough offers a supportive and inclusive work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth. You will have access to training and support, as well as the option to join our pension scheme and cycle-to-work scheme.
This is a fixed-term contract for 24 months, with a starting salary of £23,400.00 per year. The post is subject to a 4-month probationary period.
Please note that the post is reliant on continued funding, and hours may be reduced or withdrawn accordingly following appropriate notice.
