Job Overview: We are seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to join our Regulatory Services team in Argyll and Bute Council. As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking the full range of environmental health enforcement, including public health and food safety.

About the Role: You will work with our team to address unique challenges in a rural geographical area, with a large number of private water supplies and a significant food manufacturing and export market. You will manage your own district workload, ensuring environmental health standards are met and travel across the area to undertake operational work.

We also pay annual membership to the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and encourage Chartered membership of REHIS through continued professional development.

Requirements: You should have knowledge of environmental health enforcement, public health, and food safety. You will work closely with our team to address the unique challenges of our area. Consideration will be given to applications from newly qualified Environmental Health Officers.

Additional Information: The post may be filled as a Regulatory Services Officer for graduates who are authorized for food safety enforcement, officers holding the Higher Certificate in Food Hygiene/Food Control, or those working as environmental health enforcement officers in a local authority.
