We are seeking an experienced Environmental Instrument Specialist to contribute to scientific discovery and generate data, insights, and solutions for researchers, businesses, and governments to solve complex environmental challenges.

As an Environmental Instrument Specialist, you will work with a passionate team of air quality researchers, ecologists, technicians, and engineers to develop and manage environmental scientific samplers, deliver field instrument builds, and provide customer product support.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Operationally managing UKCEH instrument and sampler production, including the UKCEH DELTA and in-house chemical analytical systems.
  • Managing UKCEH products across technical support and product deployment.
  • Implementing product standards, such as CE compliance and other product benchmarks.
  • Working with UKCEH scientists on innovation for next-generation environmental measurements and designing laboratory and field instruments.
  • Collaborating with IT and data scientists to ensure product integration.
  • Managing short- and long-term field deployments of instruments, samplers, and sensors.

For this role, we are looking for someone with experience in product design processes, integrating instruments with data acquisition and communication systems, and using CAD and/or CAM software. You should also have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team.

We offer a range of benefits, including 27 days annual leave, rising to 29 days after five years, plus 3 days for our Christmas closure, 10% employer pension contribution, and enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
